While empty nest syndrome is most often associated with parenting, you can experience similar symptoms when facing other major life transitions, such as the loss of a spouse or child, divorce, retirement, or a sudden decline in health. It’s important to realize that empty nest syndrome doesn’t affect everyone the same way.
Objective:To study the demands of community health education on the empty nest elderly and analyse the related factors. Methods:The 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey(SF-36), activities of daily living (ADL) and the community health services satisfaction scale were used to investigate the community health service demand and supply of 358 empty nesters.
